Gordian III, 238-244. Aureus (Gold, 20 mm, 5.07 g, 11 h), Rome, 241-243. IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Gordian III to right, seen from behind. Rev. AETERNITATI AVG Sol, naked but for chlamys hanging over his left shoulder, standing front, head to left, raising his right hand in salute and holding globe in his left. Calicó 3186a. Cohen 37. RIC 97. Well centered and struck on a broad flan. Very minor marks, otherwise, extremely fine.
